The partial Russula database presented here is the result of a collaboration between V. Robert (CBS, Utrecht, The Netherlands) and B. Buyck from the MNHN (Paris, France). Data are based on several publications where European, American (mainly North American) and African species were described. Since the database was last updated in 1996, it's not including all species described after that date. Some of the earlier publications are not included as well usually because they were incomplete.

B. Buyck is working on an extended and hopefully complete version of the database. We hope to be able to publish it in the near future on this website. We are fully open for contributions from the community to improve it. Additional records (species), pictures or information will be welcomed. Please send them to V. Robert.
