Search NCCB bacteria/plasmids database
This database contains data on about 4,500 mutant strains available from NCCB (the
part of the collection formerly known as Phabagen). They may or may not contain
plasmids (natural or constructed). These plasmids are not used as cloning vectors,
but are interesting because of the acquired phenotype of the host/plasmid combination
(e.g. F plasmids, Col plasmids).
The database also describes about 1,000 wild type strains available from NCCB (the
part of the collection formerly known as LMD).
When you have selected one of the following categories a form is displayed in which
you can enter one or more search arguments.
This option allows you to specify (part of) a species name; when records have been
retrieved you may select species for which data have to be displayed. The data include
synonyms
and strains.
This option allows you to search for a strain with a particular strain number or
name. The number may be an NCCB collection number, e.g. NCCB 1001,
a number from another collection, or a strain/mutant name like DH5alpha.
This option allows you to search for strains having particular chromosomal markers,
or incorporating certain plasmids.
This option will show you a list of strains that have been added to the public collection
