General search
This option allows you to search in all the text fields of the datebase

Search strain number
This option allows you to search for a strain with a particular strain number. The number may be a CBS collection number, e.g. 603.74.

Search taxon name
This option allows searching for any taxon (species, genus, …), including its synonyms and find all associated strains.

Advanced search
This option allows you perform advanced searching. It means that any kind of field could be queried (not only text fields as in the General search option). It’s also possible to create complex queries made of several basic questions. For example, search for strains that can ferment Glucose, that were isolated from beer, in a given country.
