Database of Fusarium names
History of the database
A first version of the Fusarium database was completed at CBS in 1992 and distributed
to experts on diskettes. The version put on-line in 1997 still has numerous imperfections.
The database is the property of the ISPP/ICTF Fusarium working group. When
referring to this database, the origin of the data should be properly cited.
A first draft provided by Gordon Neish was edited at CBS, and numerous further references
were added. Members of the Committee, particularly H.I. Nirenberg, G.J. Samuels,
K.A. Seifert and U. Thrane then contributed data, before the text was converted
into a database structured in BASIS software. More information on the
contents
of the database is
available.
Request
The main function of this database will be to retrieve type material and representative
cultures for the recognized taxa. In this respect the database is still very incomplete
and the mycological community is urged to contribute information on these fields.
To develop the most useful system, it is crucial that you communicate all corrections
and additions to CBS.
When searching the genus name Fusarium need not be entered, but the genus of synonyms
or teleomorph genera are required. The default query is at species level, but infraspecific
taxa can also be searched. You may truncate the entry at any place using an "*".
This is particularly recommended when the ending may be equivocal.
