Delivery and Supply of
cultures
The majority of the strains are maintained as lyophilized cultures and will be distributed as such. Phages are supplied as lysates. Strains that are only preserved frozen
will be revived and dispatched on agar slants or dry ice. On request freeze-dried
vials are opened and dispatched on agar slants for a surcharge.
When placing orders for non-lyophilized strains, enough time should be allowed for
cultivation before delivery. Usually cultures can be dispatched within 2-3 weeks.
However, if a slow growing culture is involved or if a strain has to be optimized,
this period may be considerably longer and then the client will be informed. Conditions
of cultivation are indicated on each label. Instructions for reviving freeze-dried
fungal cultures are enclosed in the package. Cultures are dispatched to customers
in good condition after checking by CBS staff. They are packed in a way to prevent
damage during transit. On receipt, culture bottle caps (when present) should be
loosened. It is advised to transfer cultures received on agar slants or freeze-dried
material soon after it is received to avoid transgression of the guarantee period.

Supply
Turnover of freeze-dried material will, where practicable, be within 5 working days
if the customer has completed and signed the necessary forms and provided, if pertinent,
the necessary licenses.
If the culture can not be supplied as a freeze-dried sample within the normal period
the customer is contacted with an estimated supply date.
If there is a delay anticipated in supply the customer will be contacted by telephone, fax or e-mail to ensure new deadlines are satisfactory. If the situation changes
during recovery of the strain(s) the customer will be informed.
