Public transport

From Schiphol

When you arrive at the Schiphol Amsterdam airport you will go to the main hall after baggage pick up and customs. In the main hall you find shops etc but also the ticket counters for the NS (Dutch railway).

You can buy a ticket to Utrecht Centraal which is € 7,30 for one way at the counter but also can use the ticket machines.

The traintrip will be approximately 31, 46 or 52 minutes depending on the intercity or stop train. Trains from Schiphol to Utrecht are at 15, 27, 45 and 51 after the hour. The trains of 27 and 51 after the hour are stoptrains and you have to change at Amsterdam-Zuid or Duivendrecht. At these stations be aware of thiefs during waiting and transfer, particularly for laptops !.

When you arrive at the Utrecht Central Station, you can take either a train-taxi, taxi or bus number 11,12 or 12S.directions "Uithof" Get out at the bus stop "Heidelberglaan". Cross the road (Heidelberglaan) and walk up the "Universiteitsweg". When this road makes a bend, carry straight on. This is the "Uppsalalaan". Our institute is on the right and the main entrance is next to the sports ground. Map

Do not take taxis straight from the Schiphol airport because they can be very expensive (sometimes more than € 100,--).

From Utrecht Central Station

From the Utrecht Central Station, you can take either a train-taxi, taxi or bus number 11,12 or 12S.directions "Uithof" Get out at the bus stop "Heidelberglaan". From The Hague and Rotterdam ( A12)

Follow the road to Utrecht and turn off at the Lunetten junction in the direction of Amersfoort (A27). Follow the signs to "Uithof". After leaving the motorway, turn left at the traffic lights. After the right hand bend take the first road to the right. This is "Uppsalalaan". Our institute is on the right hand side and the main entrance is next to the sports ground.

From Breda or Den Bosch (A27) or Arnhem (A12)

At Lunetten junction go in the direction of Hilversum (A27). By the junction Rijnsweerd take the A28 in the direction of Amersfoort and then immediately turn off in the direction of De Uithof. After leaving the motorway turn left at the traffic lights. After the right hand bend take the first road to the right. This is Uppsalalaan. Our institute is on the right and the main entrance is opposite the sports ground.

From Amersfoort (A28)

Follow the road to Utrecht and turn off in the direction of De Uithof. After leaving the motorway turn left at the traffic lights. After leaving the motorway turn left at the traffic lights. After the right hand bend take the first road to the right. This is Uppsalalaan. Our institute is on the right and the main entrance is opposite the sports ground.

From Hilversum (A27)

By the junction Rijnsweerd take the A28 in the direction of Amersfoort and then immediately turn off in the direction of De Uithof. After leaving the motorway turn left at the traffic lights. After the right hand bend take the first road to the right. This is Uppsalalaan. Our institute is on the right and the main entrance is opposite the sports ground.

From Amsterdam (A1)

From Amsterdam (A2)

Direction Maarssen, Roundroad-North direction Roundroad-Utrecht (A27, A28) till direction De Uithof is signed. Turn off in the direction of the Uithof. After the right hand bend take the first road to the right. This is Uppsalalaan. Our institute is on the right and the main entrance is opposite the sports ground.
