30 participants attended the CBS course Food and airborne fungi which was held for the 30th time. Rob Samson and Ellen Hoekstra started the course Food and airborne fungi in 1981 in Baarn. The course was given this year from 10-14 October 2011 and all participants were very enthusiastic “I wish I could attend this course earlier in my career……..the course is a very good introduction for everybody working with fungi …..excellent course very enjoyable and informative…” Lectures were given by Rob Samson and Jos Houbraken, while Martin Meijer, Tineke van Doorn and Neriman Yilmaz provided technical assistance. More than 120 species were grown and shown on their specific media. The new CBS Laboratory Manual was used as a course book. The course Food and Airborne Fungi will be given next year in Utrecht from 8-12 October 2012 and in Ottawa (Canada) from 18-22 June 2012.
